Bio:
Jim’s career has taken him from the bottom of the world (Antarctica) to the top (Mt Everest) and around the globe several times in between. An aviator and avid outdoorsman, Jim served as a combat pilot in the U.S. Army prior to joining the corporate world. Jim served as head of strategy for Anthem Insurance and chief of staff for Conseco Health prior to starting his own company, TWG Capital, a merchant bank for the insurance industry. Following the sale of TWG, Jim served as head of business development for SpaceX, where his love of math, science and the great unknown allowed him to contribute to America’s return to space.
Jim received a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Military Academy, an MBA from Harvard Business School, a Doctorate of Business Administration from the University of South Florida (Go Bulls!) and is a and senior researcher at Harvard University. Jim’s varied career provides specific insights into disruptive innovation and the strategies of successful market entry and product introduction.
