St. Petersburg, FL – January 24, 2019 – Marketing Direction’s President and Founder, Christy Vogel, recently participated in the Girl Scouts West Central Florida (GSWCF) Professional Leadership Weekend. The GSWCF Camp CEO programs connect Girl Scouts of high school age with accomplished female business leaders.
Vogel has a soft spot for both mentoring and the Girl Scouts, having been a Girl Scout during her teenage years. “Camp CEO is wonderful,” states Vogel. “It’s a relaxed camp setting where the mentors and girls bond through teambuilding activities. One-on-one mentoring plays such an important role in turning bright young girls into tomorrow’s leaders.”
The effect of the Professional Leadership Weekend is long-lasting. Girl Scouts attending walk away with skills to help them pursue their chosen careers. It can be a life-changing experience, partly because of the relaxed atmosphere and the high caliber of female executive mentors who firmly believe in “paying it forward”. Vogel adds “We all have had mentors that directed us on the path to success. Now it’s our turn.”
In addition to Professional Leadership Weekend, the GSWCF Camp CEO also presents Civic Leadership Weekend and STEM Leadership Weekend. For more information on these programs go to https://www.gswcf.org/en/camps/campceo.html
